GLACIERS by Ethan U.
A glacier is a large mass of ice that slides down mountains. It slides one foot every day. The top part of a glacier moves the fastest. The bottom and sides move slower than everything else. Glaciers slide from mountain peaks.
Glaciers are formed in mountains, cold areas, rock formations, rock debris, high altitudes, and high latitudes.
How glaciers are formed is that during winter left-over snow builds up. Weight causes snow crystals to turn into firn (pellets). Then it turns into glacial ice. Eventually it gets so heavy it slides down the mountain.
